I love garage sales. I love the thrill of the hunt as I scout out the sales in my town; one eye open for movement in side streets, the other scouting for hand-lettered signs in neon colors. I'm fortunate that I haven't been in a wreck or been rear-ended making a sudden turn! The only accident so far has been the art glass swan that lost its head as I slammed on the brakes to avoid someone backing out of their driveway. (Fortunately I was paying attention that time or it would have been off to the repair shop for me!)
What I love even more than scouting for garage sales is the vintage/antique glass and silver I find at them. I thought I was alone in this interest (obsession really) until the day I stumbled onto Cass's blog at That Old House and discovered that I wasn't as alone as I had imagined. She and a host of others collect the same things I do and like me they are looking for bargains! I was in hog heaven and thus this blog is born. Please hang with me as I learn the intricacies of blogging and uploading pictures of my finds. Eventually I too will be participating in tablescapes so I can show off my finds.
Hi Lydia!
ReplyDeleteI'm your first Follower and your first commenter!
Be patient as you begin. I nearly fell off my chair the first time I realized someone else had actually READ my blog!
Even my family wasn't reading it.
:-)
I mentioned you and linked to you in my post today!
Cass
Welcome to Blogland! You did a good job on the garage sale finds, Girl!
ReplyDeleteLydia, glad you jumped in and started a blog. I started a year ago this past August. It's a wonderful new experience for me. I love the creative outlet it provides and all the new friendships that I've made. So WELCOME! ~ Sarah
