Tablescape Thursday

Today I am joining Susan from Between Naps On The Porch for my first tablescape!
I love autumn hues and here I've gone wild with the oranges and browns. With the exception of the wine glasses, the items used are our every day dishes.

Close up of the place setting. I have a twig basket filled with pinecones and a couple of fake gourds as the centerpiece. The place mats were purchased at a garage sale and have oak leaf and acorn pattern quilting. They were originally sold at Wal-Mart and I just couldn't afford them at the time. They look like they have never been used and I got 6 of them for 3 dollars. Now that's my kind of bargain! I also picked up 4 blue place mats at the same garage sale. Another set I had been wanting too. I was a happy camper that day.

The red-headed duck has flown in from the bookcase to keep us company. Next to him is the pumpkin salt shaker. I love these little salt and pepper shakers. They were three dollars at Wal-Mart.
Plates - White ironstone, International China Works (Inherited from Jeff's Nanny.)
Silverware - Rogers Futura Stainless (Nanny.)
Place mats - Garage sale, 50 cents each.
Tablecloth - Purchased from Wal-Mart long ago.
Napkins - Walmart 2.00 for a pair.
Wine Glasses - Unkown pattern, Garage sale 4 for 2.00.

  1. Yes, Autumn!
Love your colors in this table setting -- and those quilted placemats were a VERY good buy. I have good luck with things at Goodwill, but almost never score at yard sales around here; it always seems to be baby items and I'm long past needing those!
That white ironstone china is fantastic -- you can build endless table settings with that; if I had to choose one china to own (horrors!) I'd choose white ironstone.
Love the goblets; beautiful. And I think the little red headed duck is enjoying his vacation from the bookcase, and will brag about his adventure when he goes back home to the shelf.

Thanks for sharing! And Happy Fall ... Cass

  2. Thanks Cass! It was the Day of Table Linens that particular Saturday. I hit the jackpot at one garage sale and found a cut work and lace tablecloth very similar to the one you bought recently. She also had lots of place mats and napkins. I bought them all, even the 80's pastels LOL! I've given Goodwill a second chance and have found a couple of nice things. I need to get busy and update my blog!

  3. What a pretty table! I really like those placemats and the tablecloth. The white dinnerware is so pretty and I am sure so versatile.

  4. Thanks Barbara! That is my favorite tablecloth. I love pulling it out every year when the weather finally turns chilly. The colors are so warm and cozy.
